Vadagere Bidda Anjaneya Temple Yelandur Taluq, Chamarajanagar Dist.

Vadagere is a small village which falls on the way from Yeladur to B.R.Hills.
Here Sri Anjaneya idol is a Udbhava, sleeping moorthy. Legends say it is growing both lengthwise and widthwise. The old shed like structure was renovated in the year 1927 and then in 1950. It is a small temple but local people has lot of belief.

Legends say that there was a Bailanjaneeya Hill near by where Sri Vashishta mahamuni was doing penance . An Asura by name Kimula used to trouble him. Mahamuni prayed Sri Ramachandra for protection. Sri Ramachandra appeared along with Sri Anjaneya. Sri Anjaneya killed Asura Kimula , sent Sri Ramachnadra to BR hills and started taking rest at vadagere. Many centuries later people found a stone with udbhava Anjaneya on it. This sleeping anjaneya came to be called as “ Bidda Anjaneya” and started worshipping.
Vadagere is 10 kms to Yelandur and 30 kms to Chamarajanagara.
